My name is Vincent van der Zee and I have been part of the development team at Payt as a front-end developer since early 2021. This means that my tasks mainly involve the front end of the application: the look and feel and many functionalities that our clients use. I find it important to think about how users can use our application as easily as possible, in other words, the usability.

After graduating from the Computer Science program, I began my search for a position in the field where I specialize. I teamed up with a recruiter who took my personal preferences into account when finding potential employers. The main company characteristics that I valued were related to the small scale of the number of employees, with an informal working atmosphere. My first job interview resulting from this search was at Payt and it was a perfect fit right away.

Although I had little (work) experience with the programming languages we use at Payt, the potential was seen based on my skills. As a result, I was given the time and space to master the techniques during my first months that I could eventually apply to new functionalities in the application. By now, I am fully integrated and I feel incredibly comfortable at Payt. Thanks to my investigative attitude and gained experiences, I play a role in applying new techniques and developing new functionalities, such as the development of the Get it. Together program.

Due to the variety of projects, I go to work very motivated. My colleagues also contribute to the pleasant, informal working atmosphere at Payt. We have a great team that collectively delivers a quality product, and that sense of togetherness is nurtured by Payt in the form of catered lunches, team outings, and rewards. As far as that goes, I couldn’t wish for a better employer.
